What is mugicha?

Mugicha means "barley tea" in Japanese 🇯🇵 . As its name suggests, it is a Japanese drink made from brewed roasted barley. It is popular in Japan, where it is consumed hot or cold, by all members of the family. Indeed, it contains neither theine nor caffeine, which makes it interesting for children, pregnant or breastfeeding people and the elderly. It is also recommended for diabetics for its role in regulating blood sugar.

Inspired by Japan, Maison Aimi's mugicha is 100% made in France 🇫🇷 . It is made from barley from the South-West of France, in accordance with the standards of French organic farming. The barley is then roasted and crushed in an artisanal manner in France by a partner workshop and packaged by us.

Mugicha is very simple to prepare!

Put a teaspoon of mugicha in a cup and pour boiling water. Let it infuse: it's ready! We recommend the quantity of one tablespoon per cup and an infusion of 10 minutes: but it depends mainly on your taste!

It is also possible to brew barley tea cold. To do this, simply pour cold water over your roasted barley grains: the infusion may however take a little longer.

And to make your drink more indulgent, you can twist it with agave syrup, honey and/or plant-based milk of your choice to create a mugicha latte.

Mugicha has many benefits: rich in minerals, regulates blood sugar levels.

In addition, it contains neither theine nor caffeine: it is therefore completely suitable for children, pregnant people and the elderly.

The barley in our mugicha comes entirely from French organic farming (Organic Agriculture label). The farmers we work with are based in the southwest of France.

It is roasted in the Tarn, near the crops.

The crushing of our French mugicha is finally carried out in our workshop in Yvelines, before it is packaged.
